Festive Scotch Egg Recipe

We thought we'd found our favourite scotch egg recipe, and then our farm manager, John, sent his to us!

Festive Scotch Eggs recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500g of sausage-meat.

  • 2 slices of black pudding.

  • 2 packets of flavoured (any) crisps.

  • Breadcrumbs.

  • Salt and pepper.

  • 6 boiled eggs

  • 2 beaten eggs

Method:

  1. Mix black pudding and sausage meat together with pepper and salt.

  2. Mix the breadcrumbs with crushed crisps.

  3. Divide the meat mixture into 6 equal amounts.

  4. Encase each egg with meat and roll in beaten egg.

  5. Then roll in the breadcrumb mixture.

  6. Deep fry for 5 minutes.

  7. Drain on kitchen paper, and leave to cool a little.

  8. Serve halved with some piccalilli.
