Red Gran’s Cake Recipe

We need no excuse to enjoy a slice of cake here at James Potter Eggs, and we love it when Red Gran gets baking, as her cakes are the best!

This recipe is really simple, and we know you’ll love it.

Ingredients:

For this recipe, you will need:

  • 5 Eggs

  • Flour

  • Butter

  • Sugar

Method:

  1. Take 5 eggs and weigh them in their shells. Use this measurement to tell you how much flour, butter, and sugar you need (you’ll need the same amount of flour, butter, and sugar as the weight of your eggs).

  2. Tip the flour into a bowl and add the sugar. Mix.

  3. Add the butter, and mix well.

  4. Then, crack the eggs into the bowl and mix the ingredients together.

  5. Then, split the mixture into two round cake tins.

  6. Cook for 20–25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. To check if the cake is cooked, put a skewer into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready!

  7. Gran then sandwiches these together with raspberry jam and freshly whipped cream in the center!
